David Kuten grew up in Houston and completed his undergraduate studies at The University of Texas at Austin in the Plan II Honors Program. After receiving his medical degree at Baylor College of Medicine, he completed an Internal Medicine residency at Johns Hopkins Hospital. He returned to Houston for a fellowship in Cardiovascular Diseases and Interventional Cardiology at The Texas Heart Institute, where he was given the Tauber Award for Outstanding Cardiology Fellow. Dr. Kuten's clinical interests include all aspects of noninvasive and interventional cardiology. He has particular expertise in coronary interventions and the endovascular treatment of peripheral vascular disease, on which topics he has co-authored numerous publications. Dr. Kuten is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in the subspecialties of Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Diseases. He is additionally certified by the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology and the American Society of Echocardiography. He is an active member of the American College of Cardiology, Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions, and Texas Heart Institute Cardiac Society.
